Motorola Edge 50 Neo: A Sleek Design and AI-Powered Photography Under €500

Among the new 5G models from Motorola, the Edge 50 Neo is a clear standout. Designed for users who value both style and performance, this compact 6.36-inch smartphone (with a resolution of 1220 x 2670 pixels) boasts an elegant design paired with impressive technical specifications. Highlights include an OLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, 120Hz brightness, a triple-camera setup, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, 68W fast charging (recovering 50% of the 4310mAh battery in just 12 minutes!), 15W wireless charging, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. All these features combined make the Edge 50 Neo a very attractive option.

In terms of aesthetics, Motorola has partnered with Pantone to offer four exclusive color options that catch the eye immediately. The device comes in red, gray, blue, and cream, with a vegan leather back cover, a signature feature of the Edge series. Whether you like it or not, the choice of materials adds a unique touch to the overall design.

AI-Enhanced Photography

The Edge 50 Neo’s camera setup is powered by AI, ensuring excellent photo quality. It features three cameras: a 50MP main sensor from Sony (Lytia 700C) with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120°, f/2.2), and a 10MP telephoto lens (f/2.0) with stabilization and 3x optical zoom. For selfies, the phone sports a 32MP front camera with a wide-angle lens (f/2.4), capable of capturing everyone in the frame. Video recording is supported in 4K UHD at 30fps or Full HD at up to 60fps, with 240fps available for slow motion.

Motorola has integrated Google’s editing and AI tools into the Edge 50 Neo’s photo app, including features like the popular Magic Eraser found on Google Pixel phones. Motorola’s AI also enhances video recording, with adaptive stabilization that dynamically adjusts based on user movement. This makes the Edge 50 Neo’s camera setup more than capable, enhanced further by the AI algorithms from both Google and Motorola.

Free Wireless Earbuds with Purchase

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chip, clocked at 2.5GHz and paired with 12GB of RAM. This combination should handle most apps on the market with ease. The phone runs on Android 14, with five years of OS and security updates promised. Priced at €499, the Edge 50 Neo is available now, with a matching Pantone-colored case included. Additionally, as part of a launch promotion, buyers will receive a pair of Moto Buds+ wireless earbuds (worth €149) for free, available until November 3rd.

Motorola Edge 50: A Larger Display and Qualcomm Power Under €600

Although the Motorola Edge 50 and Edge 50 Neo look nearly identical at first glance, there are some key differences. The Edge 50 features a curved, bezel-less 6.7-inch OLED display (17 cm) with the same resolution and HDR10+ support. It is slightly thinner than the Edge 50 Neo (7.8mm vs. 8.1mm) and weighs just 9 grams more. The back cover is still vegan leather, and the camera specs remain unchanged.

A More Powerful Battery

Inside, the Edge 50 switches from MediaTek to Qualcomm, featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. While it’s unclear if this offers a performance improvement, a comprehensive benchmark test will reveal the difference. The Edge 50’s battery is also upgraded, offering a larger 5000mAh capacity with 68W fast charging. Despite the slightly larger display, the increased battery capacity should provide better overall battery life.

The Motorola Edge 50 is available in three distinct Pantone colors: green, gray, and sand. Priced at €599, the phone comes with a matching Agood Company protective case.

Moto G55 and G35 5G: Budget-Friendly 5G Smartphones Starting at €179

If you’re looking for a no-frills 5G smartphone, the Moto G55 5G and Moto G35 5G might be just what you need. These phones feature smooth FHD+ displays, advanced camera systems, and decent battery life, making them perfect for budget-conscious consumers.

The Moto G55 5G stands out with its 30W fast charging, 6.5-inch display (16.5 cm), and MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor with 8GB of RAM. In contrast, the Moto G35 5G offers a larger 6.7-inch display (17 cm) and is powered by the Unisoc T760 processor with 4GB of RAM. Both models come with a 5000mAh battery, although the Moto G35 5G charges at a slower 18W. The Moto G55 5G will be available in France starting in early September at €249, while the Moto G35 5G will be released later in September at a budget-friendly €179.
