In Astro Bot, your journey involves traversing various worlds to recover pieces of the mothership stolen by Nebulax, the alien you met at the start of the game. The fifth galaxy you’ll encounter is the Radiant of the Falcon, where you can discover Whirlwinds leading to Secret Galaxy levels, collect Puzzle Pieces to unlock activities at the Bot Base, rescue numerous Bots inspired by iconic video game characters, and face off against Falcon Mcfly, the giant falcon guarding this area. Here’s a detailed guide on how to defeat Falcon Mcfly, the boss of the Radiant of the Falcon:
Understanding Falcon Mcfly Attack Patterns
Before confronting Falcon Mcfly, ensure you have collected 200 Bots to break the lock. Note that there are no collectibles to gather before the boss fight, so proceed through the level normally until you encounter Falcon Mcfly. Once you face him, he will employ several attacks:
- Enemy Spit: Falcon Mcfly will spit out enemies that you need to defeat to progress. Stay alert and take them out quickly.
- Beak Strikes: Unlike what you might expect, you should not dodge this attack but rather counter it. Transform into a steel ball and wait for Falcon Mcfly to strike you with his beak. Release the button to counter the attack effectively. Each time you successfully counter, Falcon.Mcfly will spread his wings, allowing you to unscrew a bolt on the side you choose. Drop down in steel ball mode onto the button to force him to turn around.
- Projectile Spit: Falcon.Mcfly will spit out small projectiles that track your position. To avoid them, transform into a steel ball. As the battle progresses, the frequency and number of these projectiles will increase.
- Ball Birds: He will spit out large birds that roll along his body. Move from side to side to dodge them. After hitting his helmet twice, Falcon.Mcfly will also launch a massive bird to avoid by positioning yourself on one side.
Defeating Falcon Mcfly
Once you’ve successfully damaged Falcon.Mcfly’s helmet, you’ll need to strike the bump on his head with all your might. After dealing enough damage, the boss will fall to the ground. At this point, you can open the egg in front of you to reveal Bot Aloy!
