Starting the Chippin’ In Quest
At the beginning of the Chippin’ In quest, you’ll head to the Afterlife nightclub. Here, you’ll have to allow Johnny to take control of your body. This decision will automatically trigger the quest A Cool Metal Fire, which you must complete before moving forward. Don’t worry, this quest is relatively short.
During A Cool Metal Fire, you’ll have to choose between two tattoos: one is a satanic goat symbol, while the other is a somewhat cheesy heart with “Johnny” inscribed on it. Whichever tattoo you choose can be altered later if desired by visiting a ripperdoc.
After waking up, talk with Rogue and Johnny, then leave the Afterlife. Wait 24 in-game hours before returning to the nightclub. This will allow you to begin the true Chippin’ In quest. Talk to Rogue, and she’ll offer to take you on a mission, handing you a replica of Johnny’s jacket as a token.
How to Get Johnny’s Gun and Porsche 911 in Chippin’ In
Once you’re in Rogue’s car, drive to the docks where the Ebunike, Adam Smasher’s container ship, is located. This is where things get interesting, as you’ll have two ways to proceed: either fight your way through or attempt to sneak past the guards. Either method works, so choose whichever suits your playstyle. Once inside, make your way to the quest marker and access the terminal to check the emails, allowing you to advance.
Eventually, you’ll find yourself on the ship’s deck, where you’ll encounter Grayson, a key NPC. After neutralizing him, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with him, alongside Johnny and Rogue. Grayson will drop Johnny’s iconic Malorian Arms 3516 handgun, which you can pick up immediately. Although this gun is quite effective, it’s not as powerful as when Johnny used it during the flashback sequences.
But the gun isn’t the only treasure in Chippin’ In Johnny’s Porsche 911 is also available. To get it, it’s essential to spare Grayson’s life. Doing so will reward you with an access card for the container holding Johnny’s Porsche. Once you’ve received the card, head to the crane controls, lower the container, and open it to reveal the car.
If you decide to kill Grayson, don’t worry you can still recover the access card from his corpse. However, the quest won’t provide a marker for the crane controls, so you’ll need to find them manually. After speaking with Grayson, head down the stairs on your left and climb the yellow ladder to locate the crane controls.
