In Astro Bot, players journey through various worlds to recover pieces of the mothership stolen by Nebulax, the alien antagonist introduced early in the game. The second galaxy players explore is the Apex Tentacle, where you rescue bots, unlock secret levels via whirlpools, and collect puzzle pieces that unlock activities at the Bot Base. This world contains 16 puzzle pieces scattered throughout, and here’s a comprehensive guide on where to find all of them.
Apex Tentacle Puzzle Pieces in Clic-Clic Cove
Puzzle Piece #1 – Clic-Clic Cove
At the beginning of the level, while still riding the speeder, you’ll encounter two obstacles. After passing them, keep an eye on a bird flying from right to left holding the puzzle piece. Boost quickly to catch up and grab it.
Puzzle Piece #2 – Clic-Clic Cove
After scaling the large cliff on the beach, you’ll spot a chest filled with stones. Grab one and toss it at the wall on your right to reveal this hidden puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #3 – Clic-Clic Cove
After freeing Bot #7, continue climbing past flowers and bananas. On the left platform, you’ll see a large rock. Throw it at the opposite wall to uncover the last puzzle piece in this level.
Apex Tentacle Puzzle Pieces in Mini-Melo
Puzzle Piece #1 – Mini-Melo
The first puzzle piece is located on the second platform. To the left, you’ll notice a tree stump with a protruding cable. Pull it to open a compartment. Transform into a mouse to retrieve the hidden puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #2 – Mini-Melo
The second puzzle piece is hidden inside the bedroom ventilation system. Head to the ground floor, use the blue potted flower to reach the green surface above, and then navigate across objects on the wall until you can enter the vent and claim the puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #3 – Mini-Melo
The final puzzle piece is located at the clock. Wait for the second hand to approach, and then ride it up to jump and reach the last puzzle piece of this level.
Apex Tentacle Puzzle Pieces in Star Seed
Puzzle Piece #1 – Star Seed
Right at the start of the level, while still on the speeder, you’ll find the first puzzle piece hidden in a small cave on the right side.
Puzzle Piece #2 – Star Seed
At the back right of the area with the giant seed, you’ll see a golf hole with a flag. Stand on the opposite platform and shoot the golf ball into the hole. Doing so will reveal the puzzle piece above the flag.
Puzzle Piece #3 – Star Seed
After exiting the beehive, you’ll face a massive tulip. Defeat it, then use the elephant to remove the honey from the central platform, revealing the final puzzle piece of the level.
Apex Tentacle Puzzle Pieces in Wormhole
Puzzle Piece #1 – Wormhole
Shortly after the start of the level, you’ll enter a cave. Near the checkpoint on the right, you’ll spot a cluster of orange crystals. Destroy them to reveal the puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #2 – Wormhole
In the same area as Bot #6, there’s a pool with spikes at the bottom where the puzzle piece is located. To safely access it, shoot the red cube on the wall, which will fill the pool with water, allowing you to swim down and retrieve the piece.
Puzzle Piece #3 – Wormhole
During the timed section inside the giant worm, you’ll find this puzzle piece on the left while making your ascent.
Apex Tentacle Puzzle Pieces in Bot of War
Puzzle Piece #1 – Bot of War
In the second area, just to the left of the checkpoint, you’ll spot a chest with fennec foxes. Open the chest to claim the first puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #2 – Bot of War
After crossing the rope and entering a new area, look to your right. Break the ice block, then use the trampoline to throw your axe at the window. Inside, you’ll discover a large tree with the puzzle piece hidden just behind it.
Puzzle Piece #3 – Bot of War
After dropping the large hammer to create a bridge, head down and look to the left. You’ll spot a platform with a flower that needs activating. Hold the square button to reveal the puzzle piece. You can then retrieve it by throwing your axe at the mechanism to keep it open.
Tips for Finding Puzzle Pieces in Apex Tentacle
- Stay observant: Many of the puzzle pieces are cleverly hidden, requiring players to solve small environmental puzzles or defeat enemies.
- Use abilities wisely: Some pieces require precise timing, such as boosting with the speeder or throwing objects. Be prepared to repeat sections if necessary to grab every piece.
